Nissan has announced its commitment to launching at least 19 electric vehicles by 2030 under its Nissan and Infiniti brands. To explore potential designs and technology, the automaker has been introducing multiple concepts in recent years.

The latest addition to Nissan's concept family is a series of four concepts that will debut at the 2023 Tokyo auto show. One of these concepts, called the Hyper Tourer, was unveiled on Tuesday. This compact minivan is designed for urban exploration and occasional road trips.

Joining the Hyper Tourer in the concept family are the previously revealed Hyper Urban crossover and Hyper Adventure rugged SUV.

The Hyper Tourer concept focuses on interior refinement, featuring premium materials and accents inspired by traditional Japanese patterns. The cabin also includes an AI system that monitors occupants' biometric signs and adjusts music and lighting accordingly.

While technical details are limited, Nissan has shared that the Hyper Tourer has a low center of gravity thanks to a high-capacity solid-state battery in the floor. It also boasts an all-wheel-drive system with Nissan's e-4ORCE torque-vectoring system.

The concept is equipped with bidirectional charging and offers a high level of self-driving capability. In self-driving mode, the front-seat passengers can rotate their chairs 180 degrees to face the rear-seat passengers in a lounge-like setting.

Before the start of the Tokyo auto show, Nissan will reveal the fourth and final member of its Hyper family of EV concepts. The show opens to the media on October 25th.
