A Tesla Cybertruck release candidate has been found broken down on the roadside in California, providing an opportunity for a curious bystander to capture some spy shots of the electric pick-up truck. The vehicle, which had engine problems, was covered with a reflective sheet and had a familiar camouflage pattern, suggesting it could be a release candidate or prototype that underwent terrain testing in other parts of the world.

The Tesla engineer attempted to fix the issue with the Cybertruck but ultimately had to leave it covered on the side of the road in Los Altos Hills. Photos of the abandoned truck show a grouping of holes on the bottom, possibly for a truck reversing speaker. A former suspension engineer analyzed the suspension shots and noted that the rear lower A-arm is made of welded steel, unlike the casting at the front. There also appears to be an actuator for dynamic damping modification. Overall, the comments about the Cybertruck suspension are positive, describing it as simple yet robust, although it may still be a prototype system.
