【Summary】A broken-down Tesla Cybertruck was spotted in California, allowing for spy shots of the electric pick-up truck's suspension system. The vehicle, covered in a reflective sheet and with a camouflage pattern, may be a release candidate or prototype. The suspension features a rear lower A-arm made of welded steel and an actuator for dynamic damping. Overall, the suspension is described as simple and robust, but it could still be a prototype system.

Exposed Tesla Cybertruck suspension system

A potential Tesla Cybertruck release candidate was recently discovered abandoned on the side of the road in California. It appears that the vehicle had experienced engine issues and was left covered near Los Altos Hills. In an attempt to fix the problem, a Tesla engineer resorted to covering the truck and leaving it in the dirt, providing an opportunity for a passerby to capture some covert shots.

The images of the abandoned Cybertruck reveal that it is covered with a reflective sheet, but also features a camouflage pattern, suggesting that it may be a release candidate or a prototype that has undergone testing in various terrains. Interestingly, the pictures also show a series of holes on the bottom of the truck, which could potentially be for a truck reversing speaker.

Further analysis of the Cybertruck's suspension was conducted by a former suspension engineer. According to their observations, the rear lower A-arm of the suspension is made of two welded steel pieces, while the front features a different casting. Additionally, there appears to be an actuator that allows for dynamic damping modification. Overall, the comments on the Cybertruck's suspension are positive, highlighting its simplicity and robustness, although it is noted that it may still be a prototype system.
