Fastest Renault Clio in Britain with Turbo K24 and Carbon Kevlar Body

The Renault Clio is a rare find in the United States, but in Europe, particularly the older 172 models, they are becoming more affordable. As a result, people overseas are experimenting with different engines to create the fastest Clio possible. One individual in the UK has taken on this challenge and installed a non-European engine under the hood.

The RuskiWeldFab YouTube channel based in the UK is determined to build the fastest Renault Clio 172 in the country. To achieve this, the standard drivetrain was replaced with a Honda K24 inline-four cylinder engine with i-VTEC, commonly found in Honda vehicles like the Accord, Acura TL, CR-V, and Odyssey minivan. With the right modifications, these small economy car engines can be transformed into powerful machines. In this case, the K24 engine was fitted with a Garrett G30-770 turbocharger and a GFB X50 wastegate to maximize horsepower. The engine is paired with a Kotouc Racing Gearboxes MQ350 six-speed sequential transmission for precise and quick shifts.

With 500 horsepower, these upgrades alone are impressive. However, to claim the title of the fastest Renault Clio in the UK, additional modifications were necessary. Following the philosophy of "simplify and add lightness," every body panel, exterior trim piece, and most of the interior were replaced with lightweight carbon Kevlar panels. This drastic weight reduction brings the achievement of the fastest Renault Clio 172 in Britain within reach.
