Ferrari 296 Challenge global premiere

The Ferrari 296 Challenge has been unveiled by Ferrari ahead of its global debut on October 23. The sports car will be showcased at the Mugello Circuit from October 24 to 30. This new model will be the ninth addition to Ferrari's Challenge Trofeo Pirelli range.

Expected to hit the North American and European markets next year, the 296 Challenge offers numerous enhancements compared to its predecessor, the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo. While it is a road-legal car, its design has been optimized for track usage.

The 296 Challenge sets new standards in terms of performance and lap consistency in the Prancing Horse single-make series. It shares many specifications with the 296 GT3, which made its debut earlier this year. Based on the 296 GTB, this new model features significant upgrades in powertrain, aerodynamics, and vehicle dynamics to deliver maximum performance on the track.

Powering the Ferrari 296 Challenge is a 2992cc twin-turbo engine, marking the first 120-degree V6 in the history of the Finali Mondiali championship. This engine produces 690 horsepower and 740 Nm of torque, resulting in an impressive output of 231 hp per liter.

The 296 Challenge also excels in aerodynamics, generating over 870 kg of downforce at 250 km/h when the spoiler is set to its maximum angle of attack. To ensure exceptional braking performance, the car is equipped with new CCM-R PLUS brake discs and carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes with ABS EVO Track setup. Additionally, the 296 Challenge features specifically-developed Pirelli 19-inch tires to enhance its on-road dynamics.

With its advanced features and performance, the Ferrari 296 Challenge will replace the 488 Challenge Evo in Ferrari's lineup.
