Ford Hires Former Apple Executive for Software Subscription Services

Ford has announced that it has hired Peter Stern, a former Apple executive, to lead a new business unit called Ford Integrated Services. This unit will focus on selling software-related subscription services to vehicle owners. Stern, who previously served as Apple's vice president of services, will be responsible for combining software and hardware into innovative services.
During his time at Apple, Stern oversaw various businesses including Apple TV plus, iCloud storage, Apple Books, and the arcade and fitness operations. His experience in managing these diverse services will undoubtedly be valuable in his new role at Ford.
Stern officially started his new position on Monday and will report directly to Ford's CEO, Jim Farley. In addition to overseeing the integration of software and hardware, Stern will also be tasked with expanding Ford's BlueCruise hands-free partially automated driving system. Furthermore, he will be responsible for enhancing productivity, as well as safety and security services offered by the company.
