Tesla's Cybertruck reveals impressive towing capacity and more in new ad
【Summary】Tesla's Cybertruck, set to be delivered to customers in less than 10 days, has been revealed to have a towing capacity of 11,000 lbs, making it one of the most tow-capable electric vehicles on the market. The specifications were spotted in an ad that highlighted the truck's features, including its ultra-hard stainless steel exoskeleton and shatter-resistant glass. The towing capacity is expected to be for the top-of-the-range "Performance" variant.
In 2019, Tesla introduced the world to its Cybertruck design, which quickly gained popularity. Since then, the company has received over a million reservations for this unique and utilitarian truck, known for its off-roading and towing capabilities.
As the customer deliveries are just around the corner, an advertisement showcasing the Cybertruck's towing capacity has been spotted. The ad, which proudly labels the Cybertruck as "Designed to be the world's toughest truck," was discovered by Tesla enthusiast Dylan and shared on X.
The banner displays a picture of the Cybertruck, highlighting five key features, including the towing specifications:
- Ultra-hard stainless steel exoskeleton
- Shatter-resistant glass
- Ultra-tough SMC bed with up to 2,500 lb. payload
- Adaptive air suspension with on-road and off-road drive modes
- 11,000 lbs of towing power
Although it remains uncertain which variant of the vehicle these specifications refer to, it is likely that they pertain to the top-of-the-range "Performance" model, which will be equipped with a tri-motor powertrain.
With a towing capacity of 11,000 lbs, the Cybertruck is estimated to have a 5-tonne tow rating, making it one of the most capable electric vehicles for towing on the market.
Recent sightings of the Cybertruck have showcased its towing abilities. Earlier this month, a Cybertruck was observed towing a large trailer, which also carried a Tesla Model Y and a toolbox. This setup weighed more than the boat and trailer itself, as the Model Y alone weighs over 2,000 kg.
Another sighting took place in Florida, where the Cybertruck was seen towing a large boat. Additionally, the off-roading capabilities of the Cybertruck have been witnessed as well, with the vehicles being spotted covered in mud and conquering hills on off-roading tracks.
Tesla has kept the key specifications of the Cybertruck under wraps for a long time, with the official announcement expected to take place on November 30th. This unusual marketing strategy has created anticipation among the over a million order holders.
As the delivery event approaches, it is likely that Tesla's teasing of these key specifications will generate excitement. Furthermore, a comprehensive list of variants and their respective prices is expected to be revealed at the event later this month.
