GeniePoint reduces EV charging fees in Zap-Pay campaign.
【Summary】GeniePoint and Zap-Pay have announced a promotion offering discounted charging rates for electric vehicle (EV) drivers on the GeniePoint network. The promotion, in celebration of World EV Day, will provide Zap-Pay users with a reduced tariff of 65p per kWh during off-peak times and 69p per kWh during peak times. This exclusive offer is available for the first two weeks of September and aims to make EV charging more affordable and accessible.
EV drivers using the GeniePoint network via Zap-Pay are in for a treat with discounted charging rates for the first two weeks of September. This exciting promotion is part of the launch of GeniePoint's GenieFlex pricing tariff on Zap-Pay and is exclusively available to Zap-Pay users when charging on the GeniePoint network. The timing of this offer also coincides with World EV Day on September 9th.
GenieFlex offers customers lower charging rates during off-peak times when charge points are less likely to be in use. Specifically, off-peak times are defined as between 20:00 and 07:59. Currently, the GenieFlex price tariff is set at 75p per kWh for off-peak charging and 79p per kWh during peak times. However, this exclusive offer grants a 10p per kWh reduction, resulting in a charging tariff of 65p per kWh during off-peak times and 69p per kWh during peak times for Zap-Pay users. On average, this means drivers could save around £3 per charge session.
Matt Lloyd, the CPO manager at Zapmap, expressed his excitement about this opportunity, stating, "Zap-Pay is a really simple way to pay for charging across networks from within the Zapmap app. I'm therefore very pleased to be able to offer such a great discount on charging rates when using Zap-Pay on the GeniePoint network throughout the country. We understand that costs are a significant consideration for many drivers, whether they're embarking on longer journeys or simply topping up at their destination. That's why it's fantastic to see Zap-Pay amplifying the benefits of the GenieFlex price tariff and supporting EV drivers who don't have access to a home charger."
Dee Humphries, the director at GeniePoint owner Equans EV Solutions, also expressed her enthusiasm for the offer, saying, "At GeniePoint, we're dedicated to making EV charging as accessible and convenient as possible. That's why we're delighted to launch this exclusive charging discount in collaboration with Zapmap for EV drivers who use Zap-Pay. This offer also serves as a way to celebrate World EV Day and express our gratitude to those who have made the transition to EV, contributing to a sustainable future."
