Improved Buick Wildcat Design Study
【Summary】Buick shares behind-the-scenes look at the design process of the Buick Wildcat, showcasing its move towards electrified crossovers. The concept car looks more production-ready and attractive than the final product.
The General Motors Design studio recently provided a glimpse into the creation of the first version of the modern Buick Wildcat. This concept car made its debut just over a year ago, showcasing Buick's future design direction. Some elements of the Wildcat's design can already be seen in newer models like the 2024 Envista.
In addition to showcasing the Wildcat, Buick's video introduction also symbolizes a shift away from traditional sedans such as the LaCrosse and Regal. The company is embracing a new era of electrified crossovers, and even unveils a fresh logo to signify this change.
Interestingly, the animated car used in the video, which was created to convince Buick's management to pursue the concept, appears to be more production-ready than the final product. In our opinion, the animated car possesses a more appealing design compared to the somewhat radical concept that was ultimately produced.
