Jeep Grand Wagoneer Test Drive: Questions Welcome
【Summary】The Jeep Grand Wagoneer is the most luxurious Jeep in history, priced close to $100,000. It competes with vehicles like the BMW X7, Mercedes GLS, and Cadillac Escalade. It offers a 6.4-liter V8 or twin-turbocharged inline-six engine, both with poor fuel economy. The author invites questions about the vehicle's features and plans to provide honest feedback based on their week-long test drive.
The Grand Wagoneer is making waves as the most luxurious Jeep ever produced. Priced at nearly $100,000, it boasts unique luxury features and a polarizing exterior design. As we embark on a week-long test drive, we invite you to ask us any questions about this massive vehicle.
First and foremost, it's important to note that the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are not the same. While they share the same body and chassis, the Wagoneer is the entry-level version starting at around $61,500. On the other hand, the Grand Wagoneer is the flagship model of the entire Jeep brand, with a starting price of approximately $91,000. Fully loaded, this beast can reach up to $120,000.
This means that the Grand Wagoneer is directly competing with formidable rivals such as the BMW X7, Mercedes GLS, and Cadillac Escalade. Each of these vehicles has its own loyal following, and it remains to be seen if the Grand Wagoneer can make a dent in the market.
Under the hood, you have the option of a 6.4-liter V8 engine producing 471 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque, or a twin-turbocharged inline-six engine with 510 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and deliver rather disappointing fuel efficiency, with city mileage falling below 15 mpg.
During our week-long test drive, we will be taking the Grand Wagoneer on various excursions. We invite you to let us know what you would like us to focus on during our testing. Are there specific features you are curious about? Do you have any tough questions that you would like us to answer? We are here to provide you with the honest truth.
