Keith Richards' Vintage Ferrari Goes Up For Auction
【Summary】Keith Richards' 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT Scaglietti, with over 25,000 miles, is up for auction. The car, once owned by the Rolling Stones guitarist, features period-correct modifications and underwent a meticulous restoration in 2015.
The story behind this iconic car is just as captivating as the car itself. Keith Richards, a member of the Rolling Stones, purchased the Ferrari in California in 1972. It quickly became his trusted companion during the band's European tours, accumulating an impressive 25,000 miles.
This stunning car boasts an Argento Metallizzato exterior paired with Nero Connolly leather. Its classic charm is enhanced by Veglia Borletti instrumentation in miles, giving it a timeless appeal. The car also features several period-correct modifications, including a Momo Prototipo steering wheel and a Blaupunkt radio.
In 1986, Richards decided to part ways with his beloved Ferrari, selling it to a private collection in Japan. However, in 2014, the car made a triumphant return to Europe and found a new home with Liam Howlett, the co-founder of the EDM band The Prodigy. Howlett took great care of the car and in 2015, it underwent a meticulous restoration. Joe Macari Performance Cars of London expertly rebuilt its V6 engine and refreshed the exterior, ensuring it regained its former glory.
