Kia Stonic car fire on busy road

This is the astonishing moment when a Kia Stonic worth £25,000 suddenly burst into flames while driving on the road. The incident took place in Luton, less than two miles away from Luton airport, where a massive fire had destroyed a new parking structure worth £20 million just a week prior.

Workers from a waste management firm, who happened to be traveling behind the car, noticed the flames emerging from underneath the vehicle. The car, painted in white, was carrying two passengers at the time.

In a dramatic turn of events, the workers immediately sprang into action. They quickly alerted the female driver and the male passenger inside the car about the emergency. The man, wearing a red T-shirt, rushed to retrieve something from the boot before stepping aside.

The fire incident occurred in Luton, the same place where a car explosion had resulted in the destruction of 1,500 cars in the new parking structure at Luton airport, causing chaos and devastation.

The workers from Boxell Removals honked their horn and shouted at the passengers, urging them to exit the burning car. One of the workers, finding themselves stuck in traffic, jumped out and ran towards the vehicle engulfed in flames. He shouted, "Get out! Your car is on fire, man, underneath!"

In the video footage, the pair can be seen standing beside Crawley Green Road while the fire rapidly spreads. The police arrived at the scene and halted traffic in both directions, ensuring the safety of everyone involved. Firefighters also arrived promptly to tackle the raging inferno.

According to the DVLA website, the car in question is a 19-plate Kia Stonic powered by petrol. A spokesperson from Boxell Removals commented on the incident, stating, "Friday the 13th hit this couple hard."

Local resident Alfie Clarke remarked, "Luton seems to have a peculiar connection with cars catching fire." Another person wondered, "How does something like this even happen?"

Robyn, a witness to the incident, admitted, "I was today years old when I realized that cars on fire don't explode like they do in movies." Becky, another witness, humorously added, "With the prices of shopping these days, I would have grabbed my groceries and all. But I'm just glad they're safe."

A spokesperson from Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service provided details about the incident, stating, "On Friday, October 13th, at approximately 2:24 pm, we received reports of a vehicle on fire on Crawley Green Road in Luton. One fire engine from Luton was dispatched to the scene, and our firefighters used breathing apparatus, hose reels, and a thermal imaging camera to safely extinguish the fire. Bedfordshire Police implemented a scene safety zone in conjunction with the fire service. Fire Control received five repeat calls regarding this incident."
