Automobili Lamborghini is set to make its first official appearance at the Auto e Moto d'Epoca classic car show in Bologna from October 26 to 29. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the iconic car brand, and to celebrate, Lamborghini will be showcasing two of its most iconic vehicles on the Polo Storico stand. The first car on display will be the Countach LP 400, the oldest Countach in existence, which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1973. The second vehicle is an Espada Series 3, currently undergoing restoration and owned by a Japanese enthusiast.

Alessandro Farmeschi, After Sales Director of Automobili Lamborghini, expressed his excitement about the company's participation in the event. He emphasized the significance of the showcased cars, stating that they symbolize Lamborghini's commitment to preserving its heritage and the restoration service offered by Polo Storico.

Polo Storico, established in 2015, is the department of Automobili Lamborghini responsible for managing and studying the company's archives, restoring classic cars, certifying classic Lamborghinis, and organizing events for Lamborghini collectors.

The Countach LP 400, with chassis number 1120001, is a crucial piece of Lamborghini history. It differs from the first Countach produced, the LP 500 show car displayed in 1971, and has undergone various tests and development trials. Initially painted red, it later appeared with a green paint job, leading many to believe it was a different car. However, during restoration work in 2003, it was discovered that the green paint was covering the original red paint, confirming that it was indeed the same car.

The Espada Series 3, with chassis number 8824, was the first four-seater car produced by Lamborghini. This front-engine, 12-cylinder car was known for its low-slung design and impressive speed. The Espada on display at the show is currently being restored by Polo Storico and is still in the bare sheet metal stage. Once completed, it will be returned to its Japanese collector owner.

The Automobili Lamborghini stand can be found in Hall 32 of Bologna Fiere, and the show will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 27 and 28).
