Lexus has unveiled two all-electric concept cars at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show – the LF-ZL SUV and the LF-ZC four-door saloon. The LF-ZC, which stands for 'Lexus Future Zero-emission Catalyst', is not just a concept car, but is actually scheduled to launch in 2026. While technical details are limited, Lexus has previously stated that their next-generation EVs will have a range of up to 620 miles and will feature an all-wheel drive 'DIRECT4' system.

The LF-ZC has dimensions similar to the BMW i4 and Tesla Model 3, measuring 4,750mm in length, 1,880mm in width, and 1,390mm in height. Its design language, called "Provocative Simplicity" by Lexus, features a coupe-saloon profile with a roofline that extends to the rear. The aerodynamic design aims for a drag coefficient of under 0.2Cd, surpassing even the Mercedes EQS.

Inside the LF-ZC, Lexus showcases its interest in the yoke-style steering wheel, along with an Intelligent Cockpit equipped with a new software called Arene OS. This software allows for continuous updates of safety and infotainment features, providing a personalized digital readout. The cabin also incorporates AI technology with next-generation voice recognition, which can provide routes and recommendations based on the driver's history and preferences. Additionally, the interior features the use of sustainable bamboo.

To enhance driver focus, the LF-ZC includes a physically interactive display projected onto the windshield, offering a unique take on the traditional head-up display. With its futuristic design and advanced technologies, the LF-ZC represents Lexus' vision for elevated driving dynamics and uncompromised design in their upcoming electric vehicles.
