Liberty Walk's Ford Bronco Widebody Narrower Than Raptor
【Summary】Japanese widebody kit maker Liberty Walk has released a widebody kit for the Ford Bronco. Despite being known for their kits for supercars, the kit works well on the Bronco and gives it a rugged look. Priced at $3,080, it is expected to have mass appeal among Bronco owners.
Japanese widebody kit maker Liberty Walk is well-known for creating bolted-on widebody kits for modified street Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Nissan GT-Rs. However, trucks have not been a focus for Liberty Walk, despite their strong history of bolted-on overfenders. Surprisingly, Liberty Walk has now released a widebody kit for the modern Ford Bronco, which is available for purchase. And it looks impressive.
The overfender treatment has always been a topic of controversy, closely following the cyclical evolution of widebody kits. Initially, widebodies were inspired by the fender flares of race cars in the '70s and '80s, then by the fiberglass bling trend of the '90s and '00s, and now we have the overfender mania of the modern era. Throughout each era, there have been exceptional widebody kits, often influenced by racing and performance rather than aesthetics. However, the primary purpose of widebodies has always been to enhance style.
When it comes to the Bronco, Liberty Walk's fender kit surprisingly works incredibly well. While most of their kits are designed for sleek supercars with distinct design philosophies, the Bronco is a rugged and industrial vehicle. Therefore, the exposed rivets and sinuous shapes of the Liberty Walk kit, which may seem out of place on a Lamborghini Aventador or Ferrari F40, actually complement the Bronco's design. In fact, it looks as if it could have come straight from the factory.
Compared to their other kits, the Liberty Walk widebody kit for the Bronco is less extreme but has the potential to appeal to a wider audience. For $3,080, Bronco owners can enhance the visual toughness of their vehicles with this high-quality fender kit. Perhaps we will soon see these kits on trails across the United States.
