A series of teaser images built anticipation for the reveal of the MG EX4 Concept, a tribute to the iconic MG Metro 6R4 rally car. With its wild design and hints of a road car, the EX4 Concept captured the attention of fans of both MG and Group B rallying.

MG faced the challenge of paying tribute to one of the most beloved rally cars ever, especially when using an electric vehicle as a base. To overcome this challenge, MG collaborated with engineering firm RML to create a special one-off show car for the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

MG is currently experiencing success with its lineup of family-friendly models, including the MG4, which won the Affordable Electric Car of the Year award. The EX4 Concept showcases the brand's momentum and popularity.

The EX4 Concept features several exterior modifications, including a large splitter, wide wheel arches, and a prominent rear spoiler. The car's white body with lime green decals ensures it stands out.

MG wanted to showcase the EX4 Concept by running it up the famous Goodwood hillclimb. BTCC driver Daniel Rowbottom was impressed by the car's appearance and suggested it would make for an exciting one-make series.

The EX4 Concept drew more attention than the Cyberster, another MG model showcased at Goodwood. It combines the design elements of the MG4 XPower road car with two motors, producing a combined 429bhp and enabling a 0-62mph sprint time of 3.8 seconds.

Rowbottom praised the driving experience of the EX4 Concept, noting its ability to light up all four wheels and its overall attitude. While it lacks the noise of a traditional engine, the visual spectacle of the car is impressive.

Although MG has no plans to put the EX4 Concept into production, Rowbottom sees its potential in motorsport, suggesting a one-make championship or entry into World Rallycross would be fitting for the car.

Overall, the MG EX4 Concept pays homage to the MG Metro 6R4 while showcasing MG's current success and future potential.
