Kia EV3: enhanced concept unveiling
【Summary】Kia is set to reveal a concept version of its new EV3, giving us a glimpse of what to expect from the latest addition to their EV range. The EV3 Concept will showcase a near production-ready model with similarities to the EV5 and EV9. Spy shots indicate a futuristic design with triangular wheel designs and nods to the larger EV models. The EV3 is expected to compete with the Volvo C40, Mercedes EQA, and BMW iX1.
Kia has been spotted testing its new EV3 on the road, giving us a glimpse of what to expect from the latest addition to Kia's EV lineup. However, before the production version is revealed, Kia will first showcase a concept model.
During Kia's EV Day, the EV3 Concept was teased in shadowy images alongside five other EVs. Positioned as the second car from the right, between the EV5 and EV9, the EV3 Concept is joined by the EV4 saloon on the left.
Similar to the EV9 and EV5 Concepts, the Kia EV3 Concept is expected to provide a near production-ready model. While the front headlight signature resembles the EV5's, it does not feature the LED strip along the bonnet's leading edge.
Despite the extensive camouflage on the test car, some design details of the EV3 are visible. The EV3 sports futuristic 'triangular' wheel designs, suggesting a bold and unique look. There are also hints of the larger EV5 and EV9, while the rear of the EV3 shares similarities with the EV6.
Exclusive images of the Kia EV3 from 2022 indicate that it may feature a full-width LED rear light bar, along with muscular surfacing and Kia's new logo.
The spy shots taken in Germany also reveal that the EV3 may adopt the dark ridge on the EV6's C-pillar and black wheel arches. The absence of temporary testing components or add-ons suggests that the EV3 is nearing production.
As Kia's plans to launch 14 new EVs by 2027 gain momentum, the EV3 is set to follow the recently unveiled EV5, EV6, and EV9. Positioned as a rival to the Volvo C40, Mercedes EQA, and BMW iX1, the EV3 is expected to make a significant impact in the EV market.
