New Hyundai Tucson Revives Interior Buttons

Hyundai Europe has unveiled the facelifted 2025 Tucson, featuring subtle exterior updates and a revamped interior to align with Hyundai's latest models. Although no specifications have been disclosed, the first images and a few additional details have been released.

The most significant changes can be seen in the interior, where Hyundai has replaced the primarily touch-sensitive buttons with a new corporate layout. This layout includes physical volume and tuning knobs, as well as real buttons for climate controls and other functions. The previous model's separate gauge cluster and central displays have been replaced by a single sweeping display on top of the dashboard, combining the digital gauge display and infotainment screen.

The released images also reveal that Hyundai has replaced the automatic transmission's push-button operation with a Bop-It-style shifter mounted on the steering column, similar to the newly redesigned Kona. Additionally, the 2025 Tucson will feature Hyundai's three-spoke steering wheel, which replaces the brand's H logo with a four-dot, Morse Code H, giving the interior a modern touch.

The fourth-generation Tucson, introduced in 2020, showcased unique exterior styling details such as integrated lights in the grille and sharply creased bodywork. The facelifted model, however, incorporates minor exterior tweaks that enhance the Tucson's attractive features. It's as if the vehicle received a few cosmetic enhancements to enhance its appearance after five years since its initial release.

In terms of exterior changes, the facelifted Tucson reduces the number of lighting elements in the DRL clusters from 10 to eight, along with other slight adjustments to streamline the front styling. The front grille and bumper have been redesigned to have a more robust look, and new wheels have been added. Although there are no direct photos of the rear, it appears to be virtually unchanged from the current model based on the side view.

The fourth-generation Tucson has always been a popular crossover, and the reimagined 2025 model is expected to be even more appealing with Hyundai's styling updates and the reintroduction of physical buttons. Updates on U.S. market announcements and powertrain specifics will be provided as they become available. The refreshed model is scheduled to go on sale in Europe early next year, while information about the U.S. release has not been mentioned at present.
