New models added at Ford Romania plant

A new line of Ford models is set to replace the existing Turkish-built line at the Ford Otosan Craiova plant in Romania. According to romania-insider.com, production of the new Transit and Tourneo Courier models, alongside the Puma, will officially begin on October 24. The plant had already started assembling units of the new Tourneo Courier generation last summer.
The production of electric versions of these models is expected to start in the second half of 2024. In order to accommodate the increased production, the Ford group plans to hire an additional 1,300 workers, bringing the total number of employees at the Craiova plant to 6,500. This expansion will also allow the plant to increase its capacity from 250,000 to 272,000 units.
