Track day enthusiasts often gravitate towards small manufacturers like Caterham, Radical, Dallara, BAC, Ariel, or Ginetta. However, there are also custom-made vehicles with racecar aesthetics and track-focused setups that deserve attention. One such example is the unnamed and unbranded prototype featured in the picture, which was meticulously handbuilt using Audi parts.

At first glance, this vehicle is designed to resemble the iconic Group C racecars from the '80s and '90s. Its sleek and wide stance, droplet-shaped canopy, and central driving position exude a sense of speed. The absence of mirrors and license plates indicates that this is a track-only machine, not suitable for public roads.

The car's standout features, such as the prominent splitter, wide shoulders, NACA-style air ducts, side exhausts, roof scoop, large rear wing, and wide rear tires, all contribute to its track prowess. However, it remains unclear whether this build incorporates any motorsport DNA beneath its striking exterior. The owner mentions the extensive use of Audi parts but does not provide specific details about the underlying structure or specifications. It appears that the model may be based on a custom chassis rather than utilizing the architecture of a donor vehicle.

Under the hood, this prototype is equipped with a rear-mounted V6 engine sourced from the first-generation Audi A4. While the bi-turbo 2.7-liter V6 from the original RS4 would have been the ideal choice for this build, the car features a 2.8-liter unit from a lesser variant. This engine produces up to 190 horsepower (193 PS / 142 kW), which is still quite impressive for a lightweight vehicle. Additionally, there is potential for easy tuning to extract even more power. The owner claims that the prototype is in working condition, albeit requiring some minor work.

This unique vehicle is currently located in Vásárosnamény, Hungary, and was listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace. It was recently shared in the Unique Cars For Sale 3.0 Group, with an asking price of €20,000 ($21,840). While this may seem more affordable compared to many track-day toys, it's worth noting that a used Mazda MX-5 could be purchased and tuned for considerably less. Unfortunately, the listing is no longer available, suggesting that someone may have already seized the opportunity to own this one-of-a-kind prototype.
