A unique Range Rover limousine, originally commissioned by the Sultan of Brunei, is now available for sale. This classic vehicle has an interesting history, as it was a gift for the Sultan's younger brother, Prince Jefri. Notably, it was also used to transport Mike Tyson to his heavyweight bout against Lou Savarese in Glasgow in 2000.
The Range Rover limousine was built by Townley Cross Country Vehicles, a company that specializes in elongating vehicles. The conversion process took nine months and involved stretching the body by 40 inches. To fill the gaps, an extra pair of Range Rover doors were added. The roof was raised by eight inches and a laminated sunroof with dark-tinted windows was installed. Additionally, a single-piece opening tailgate was included and the exterior was painted in Rolls-Royce Mason Black.
The interior of this unique vehicle is fit for royalty. It features a glass panel all-electric central reservation and two remote-controlled eight-inch TV screens with a VHS recorder. The interior is trimmed in black-piped Oxblood Connolly hide, Wilton carpeting, and Burr Walnut trim. The entire conversion is said to have cost approximately £135,000, making it a luxurious and expensive vehicle.
While further specifications are not disclosed, we do know that this particular car is equipped with a 4.3-litre V8 engine and has covered just under 17,000 miles. The estimated price range for this vehicle is £30,000 to £40,000. It will be sold by Iconic Auctioneers, and it remains to be seen whether it will fetch a higher price than Queen Elizabeth's 2004 Range Rover.
