A number of car models in France are being recalled due to a manufacturing defect that increases the risk of fire. The affected cars are from Dacia and Renault and have been listed on the official product recall website in France, called Rappel Conso.

The website states that the defect involves incorrect welding of the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tank, which can cause gas to be released into the passenger compartment, posing a fire hazard. As a result, five models have been recalled.

Among the recalled cars, three are from the Dacia brand: Duster, Logan III, and Sandero III. The vehicle reference numbers for these cars are: e19*2007/46*0026*16, e19*2007/46*0026*17, and e19*2007/46*0026*18. Additionally, two Renault vehicles are affected: Clio V (with vehicle reference numbers e2*2007/46*0676*19 and e2*2007/46*0676*20) and Captur II (with vehicle reference numbers e2*2007/46*0684*21 and e2*2007/46*0684*22).

All five models were sold between February 6 and June 13, 2023. The car manufacturers are urging anyone who has purchased one of the affected vehicles to contact the dealership or place of purchase for further information.

In other recall news in France, telephone chargers and bikes have also been recalled for safety faults. Additionally, iPhone 12 users in France will receive a free update to address an "electrowave issue."
