In a heart-stopping incident in northern Pakistan, local people came together to rescue a child from a cable car, with all eight passengers eventually being saved. The incident occurred when one of the cables snapped while the chairlift was transporting six children and two adults to school in Battagram. The passengers were left hanging 1,200 meters above a ravine, fearing for their lives.

As night fell, two children were rescued by helicopter before the air rescue had to be called off. However, the locals continued their efforts to save the remaining passengers. They constructed a makeshift chairlift and tirelessly worked to pull the passengers to safety.

Senator Sarfraz Bugti expressed his gratitude to Allah and commended the armed forces personnel, administration, and locals for their selflessness and determination in carrying out the complex rescue operation. The UK's high commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, also expressed relief and thanked everyone involved in the rescue.

A video clip captured the incredible moment when the first child was rescued. He was seen dangling from a helicopter, gripping a safety rope tightly while strapped in a harness, thousands of feet above the ground. Among the passengers were six schoolchildren aged between 10 and 16. Gulfaraz, one of the passengers, pleaded for help, highlighting the lack of drinking water in the chairlift.

Another passenger, a 16-year-old with a heart condition, had been unconscious for three hours, adding to the urgency of the rescue. Despite the challenges and dangers involved, the collective efforts of the locals and authorities ensured the safe return of all eight passengers to the ground.
