Revamped Model 3 Sedan Revealed at Beijing Trade Fair
【Summary】Tesla unveiled its revamped Model 3 sedan at a trade fair in Beijing, marking the first time the automaker has launched a vehicle in China before the United States. The car, which has new features such as a rear display for back-seat passengers, will also be exported to other markets in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Some visitors to the fair expressed interest in the car's upgrades, while others were not convinced due to the availability of other electric vehicles in the market.
The launch of the new Model 3 version in China precedes the launch in the United States, making it a significant milestone for Tesla. The car was unveiled at a trade fair in Beijing, where Tesla showcased a bright red model with a range of new features.
The improved Model 3 is set to be launched at the upcoming Munich auto show, as well as in other countries. This marks one of the first major updates to Tesla's mass-market car lineup since the introduction of the Model Y in 2020.
Notably, this is the first time Tesla has launched a vehicle in China ahead of the United States, highlighting the company's growing reliance on the Chinese market. The Model 3 is being manufactured at Tesla's Shanghai plant and will also be exported to other markets in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
During the trade fair, Tesla sales staff interacted with interested buyers, answering their questions and providing more information about the car. One university student named Guo expressed his interest in the car's debut and praised features such as the upgraded audio system and the rear display, which he believed would make riding in the car more enjoyable for back-seat passengers.
However, not all visitors were convinced to place an order. Hu, who visited the Tesla booth, mentioned that she did not see any special reason to buy a Tesla, considering the increasing availability of new energy vehicles in the market.
In addition to the Beijing trade fair, Tesla plans to showcase the new Model 3 at the Munich auto show, which opens on Tuesday.
