Ruf CTR 3 Evo: The Ultimate Power

German manufacturer and Porsche tuning specialist Ruf has introduced the CTR 3 Evo, which is their most powerful car to date. The unveiling took place during Monterey Car Week, and the vehicle is a completely redesigned and significantly upgraded version based on the Porsche Cayman-based CTR 3 Clubsport.

The CTR 3 Evo is equipped with a mid-mounted 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat six engine that produces 789bhp and 730lb ft of torque. This is an increase of 23bhp and 8lb ft compared to the Clubsport model. The maximum power is achieved at 7100rpm, while the maximum torque is deployed at 4000rpm.

The car showcased in the images is equipped with Ruf's seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. However, since the Clubsport can be specified with a six-speed manual, it is possible that the Evo will also be available with this option.

The body of the CTR 3 Evo is constructed using a Kevlar-composite material, which is known for its lightweight properties, strength, and heat resistance. This is similar to the construction method used in the Koenigsegg Agera RS.

Although the top speed and 0-62mph time have not been disclosed yet, it is expected that the Evo will be faster than the Clubsport. The Clubsport has a top speed of 236mph and can accelerate from 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds.

In addition to engine tuning, the CTR 3 Evo features modifications to the MacPherson-strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension. It is also equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes and a track-ready dry-sump lubrication system, similar to those used in the Ferrari 488 GTB and Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

Inside the CTR 3 Evo, the seats are one-piece body-hugging sports seats made from carbon fiber and upholstered in Alcantara with contrasting yellow stitching.

The CTR 3 Evo can be ordered by customers at a price of over $725,000 (£570,466). This makes it more expensive than the similarly positioned Manthey Racing Porsche 911 GT3 and the equally potent Ferrari SF90.
