German manufacturer Ruf has recently unveiled its latest creation, the CTR 3 Evo, which is said to be its most powerful car to date. This new model was revealed at Monterey Car Week and is a completely redesigned and upgraded version of the Porsche Cayman-based CTR 3 Clubsport.

The CTR 3 Evo is equipped with a mid-mounted 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat six engine, producing an impressive 789bhp and 730lb ft of torque. This is 23bhp and 8lb ft more than its predecessor, the Clubsport. The maximum power is achieved at 7100rpm, while the maximum torque is delivered at 4000rpm.

While the car pictured features Ruf's seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, it is worth noting that the Clubsport can also be equipped with a six-speed manual. Therefore, it is possible that the Evo may also offer this option.

One notable feature of the CTR 3 Evo is its body, which is constructed using a Kevlar-composite material. This material is known for its lightweight properties, strength, and heat resistance. It is similar to the material used in the Koenigsegg Agera RS.

Although the exact top speed and 0-62mph time are not yet known, it is expected that the Evo will outperform the Clubsport. The Clubsport is capable of reaching a top speed of 236mph and achieving a 0-62mph time of 3.2 seconds.

In addition to engine upgrades, the CTR 3 Evo features modifications to its suspension system, including a MacPherson-strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension. It is also equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes and a track-ready dry-sump lubrication system, similar to those found in high-performance cars like the Ferrari 488 GTB and Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

Inside the CTR 3 Evo, drivers will find one-piece body-hugging sports seats made from carbonfibre. These seats are upholstered in Alcantara and feature contrasting yellow stitching, adding to the car's sporty and luxurious feel.

Interested customers can expect to pay a hefty price tag for the CTR 3 Evo, with a cost of over $725,000 (£570,466). This makes it more expensive than other similarly positioned models like the Manthey Racing Porsche 911 GT3 and the Ferrari SF90, which offer similar levels of performance.
