Ruf CTR 3 Evo: Unleashing Tuner's Ultimate Power

German manufacturer Ruf has recently introduced its most powerful car to date, the CTR 3 Evo. This new model, unveiled at Monterey Car Week, is a completely redesigned and upgraded version of the Porsche Cayman-based CTR 3 Clubsport.

The CTR 3 Evo is equipped with a mid-mounted 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat six engine that produces an impressive 789bhp and 730lb ft of torque. This is 23bhp and 8lb ft more than its predecessor, the Clubsport. The maximum power is achieved at 7100rpm, while the maximum torque is deployed at 4000rpm.

While the car pictured comes with Ruf's seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, there is a possibility that the Evo could also be available with a six-speed manual option, similar to the Clubsport.

The body of the CTR 3 Evo is constructed using a Kevlar-composite material, which is known for its lightweight properties, strength, and heat resistance. This material is also used in the Koenigsegg Agera RS.

Although the top speed and 0-62mph time of the Evo are not yet known, it is expected to be faster than the Clubsport, which can reach a top speed of 236mph and accelerate from 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds.

In addition to engine tuning, the CTR 3 Evo features several other upgrades. These include modifications to the MacPherson-strut front suspension, a multi-link rear suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes, and a track-ready dry-sump lubrication system, similar to those found in the Ferrari 488 GTB and Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

Inside the CTR 3 Evo, the seats are one-piece body-hugging sports seats made from carbonfibre and upholstered in Alcantara with contrasting yellow stitching.

The CTR 3 Evo can be ordered by customers at a price of over $725,000 (£570,466). This makes it more expensive than the Manthey Racing Porsche 911 GT3 and the Ferrari SF90, both of which are similarly positioned and potent.
