Ruf CTR 3 Evo: Unleashing Ultimate Power

German manufacturer and Porsche tuning specialist Ruf has introduced its most powerful car to date, the CTR 3 Evo. This new model, which was unveiled at Monterey Car Week, is a completely redesigned and heavily upgraded version of the Porsche Cayman-based CTR 3 Clubsport.

The CTR 3 Evo is equipped with a mid-mounted 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat six engine that produces an impressive 789bhp and 730lb ft of torque. This is 23bhp and 8lb ft more than the Clubsport. The maximum power is achieved at 7100rpm, while the maximum torque is deployed at 4000rpm.

The car showcased in the pictures features Ruf's seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. However, since the Clubsport can also be fitted with a six-speed manual, it is possible that the Evo will also offer this option.

The body of the CTR 3 Evo is constructed from a Kevlar-composite material, similar to the lightweight and strong properties of the Koenigsegg Agera RS. This material is known for its strength, heat resistance, and lightweight characteristics.

While the top speed and 0-62mph time have not been disclosed yet, it is expected that the Evo will outperform the Clubsport. The Clubsport is capable of reaching a top speed of 236mph and can accelerate from 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds.

In addition to engine upgrades, the CTR 3 Evo also features modifications to the front suspension, which utilizes a MacPherson-strut design, as well as a multi-link rear suspension. Carbon-ceramic brakes and a track-ready dry-sump lubrication system, similar to those found in the Ferrari 488 GTB and Chevrolet Corvette Z06, are also included.

Inside the CTR 3 Evo, one-piece body-hugging sports seats made from carbonfibre are upholstered in Alcantara with contrasting yellow stitching, providing both comfort and style.

The CTR 3 Evo will be available for purchase at a price exceeding $725,000 (£570,466). This makes it more expensive than the similarly positioned Manthey Racing Porsche 911 GT3 and the similarly powerful Ferrari SF90.
