Tesla's New Wall Connector Features Innovative Adapter

Tesla has introduced its new Universal Wall Connector, a charging device that can conveniently charge any electric vehicle. The charger includes a North American Charging Standard (NACS) plug and an Integrated J1772 adapter, making it compatible with non-Tesla electric cars. One of the standout features of the Universal Wall Connector is its integrated J1772 adapter, which allows for easy charging of non-Teslas. Tesla announced the release of the new charger through social media and showcased its features in videos and on the Tesla Shop page.

The Universal Wall Connector is similar to Tesla's Magic Dock, which is used at Supercharger stations to charge non-Tesla electric cars. The charger offers several innovative functions, including the ability to add 44 miles of range per hour at 11.5 kW/48 amp output. Additionally, the device features Wi-Fi connectivity for over-the-air software updates.

One of the key advantages of the Universal Wall Connector is its integration with the Tesla App. This allows users to monitor and manage their charging schedule and usage, a feature not typically found in non-Tesla chargers. The convenience and functionality of the Universal Wall Connector may justify its higher price of $595 compared to Tesla's current Wall Connector priced at $475.

Interested buyers can place orders for the Universal Wall Connector, with shipments set to begin in October. For any further inquiries or tips, the Teslarati team can be contacted via email at [email protected] or on Twitter @Writer_01001101.
