Skoda Kodiaq interior updates and prototype review

The all-new Skoda Kodiaq is set to arrive later in 2023, and the Czech brand has released images of its redesigned interior and new features. The interior of the Kodiaq showcases a striking new look, with a relocated gear selector that creates more space for a spacious center console. It also features a large 13-inch infotainment screen with Skoda's new Smart Dials, which combine physical dials with digital controls for versatile functionality.

The upcoming second-generation Skoda Kodiaq is expected to be slightly larger than the outgoing model, with a larger boot capacity. The design of the new Kodiaq takes an evolutionary approach, incorporating design cues from the Skoda range and the brand's upcoming electric vehicles. Powertrain options for the new Kodiaq will include a plug-in hybrid variant, as well as mild-hybrid, diesel, and petrol models.

The interior of the new Kodiaq features a large, chunky dashboard and a more angular design. Skoda emphasizes the use of sustainable materials, including recycled polyester and eco leather. The Smart Dials feature allows for easy toggling and adjustment of various settings. The Kodiaq will also come equipped with a range of safety features and convenient amenities, such as a 13-inch infotainment screen, ambient interior lighting, and wireless smartphone charging.

The full reveal of the Skoda Kodiaq is expected to take place in autumn 2023, and it is anticipated to have a higher starting price than the outgoing model. However, Skoda aims to provide good value for money and remain competitive in the SUV market. A recent prototype review praised the driving experience of the Kodiaq, highlighting its capable engine and smooth gearbox.
