Skoda Kodiaq interior updates and prototype review

The all-new Skoda Kodiaq is set to arrive later in 2023, and the Czech brand has released images of its redesigned interior and new features. The interior of the Kodiaq has a striking new look, with a relocated gear selector that creates more space for a spacious center console. It also features a large 13-inch infotainment screen with Skoda's new Smart Dials, which allow users to toggle between different functions and adjust them with the same knob.

The upcoming second-generation Skoda Kodiaq is expected to be slightly longer than the outgoing model, with a larger 910-liter boot. The design of the new Kodiaq merges existing design cues from the Skoda range with elements of the brand's upcoming electric vehicles. The powertrains for the new Kodiaq will include a plug-in hybrid variant, as well as mild-hybrid, diesel, and petrol models.

The interior of the new Kodiaq features a large, chunky dashboard and makes use of sustainable materials. Skoda's Smart Dials allow for easy control of various settings, and the infotainment system includes a 13-inch screen and a 10-inch virtual cockpit. The car will also include a variety of safety features, such as Emergency Assist and lane departure control.

The full reveal of the new Skoda Kodiaq is expected to happen in autumn 2023, and the starting price is likely to be higher than the outgoing model. Skoda aims to provide good value for money and compete with other SUVs in its segment. Recently, a prototype of the Kodiaq was driven, and it was found to be similar to the outgoing model in terms of driving experience. The engine is capable, and the gearbox is smooth and quick.
