Two men were hospitalized after being stabbed in a homophobic attack outside a gay pub in Clapham, south London. The incident occurred at around 10.15pm on Sunday. The victims, one in their 20s and the other in their 30s, were treated in the hospital and have since been discharged.

The Metropolitan Police are treating the attack as homophobic and have launched a manhunt for the suspect. Detective Inspector Gary Castle assured the LGBT+ community that an urgent investigation is underway to locate the person responsible. He also mentioned that the police have recently reinstated LGBT+ community liaison officers in each of their 12 basic command units in London to provide support and advice in cases involving homophobia.

The Two Brewers, the gay bar and nightclub where the attack took place, has increased security measures following the incident. A spokesperson for the venue expressed full support for the police investigation and reassured the LGBTQIA+ community that the safety and security of their guests is their top priority.

Drag performer Mary Mac, who was present at the venue during the attack, took to Twitter to express her shock and disgust at the incident. She commended the staff at The Two Brewers for their actions in ensuring the safety of those inside the venue. Mayor of London Sadiq Khan also condemned the attack, calling it abhorrent and urging witnesses to come forward with any information.

Mayor Khan's sentiments were echoed by Florence Eshalomi, the Labour MP for Vauxhall, who described the attack as very worrying. The police have asked anyone with information to contact them either through the non-emergency number or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
