Appeal for witnesses: Two men stabbed in London

The Metropolitan Police is appealing for witnesses to come forward after two men were stabbed in a homophobic attack on Clapham High Street over the weekend. The incident, which is being treated as a hate crime, occurred outside the Two Brewers nightclub on Sunday night.

The victims, both in their 20s and 30s, were approached by a man who attacked them with a knife before fleeing the scene. They were taken to the hospital for treatment but have since been discharged.

The Metropolitan Police has confirmed that they are treating the incident as a homophobic attack and are currently conducting inquiries to locate and arrest the perpetrator. Detective Inspector Gary Castle reassured the LGBT+ community that an urgent investigation is underway and that they have reinstated LGBT+ community liaison officers in each of their 12 basic command units in London.

The purpose of these officers is to support and advise on investigations where homophobia is a motive, as well as to provide a dedicated point of contact for the community to address any concerns they may have.
