Tesla introduces Apple Shortcuts integration for car control

Apple Shortcuts have just become even more convenient for Tesla owners. In the latest version (4.24.0) of Tesla's mobile app for iOS, support for Apple Shortcuts has been introduced. Shortcuts is a pre-installed app on iPhone and iPad that allows users to set up time-saving settings for various actions. These actions can be accessed with a tap or by using Siri, Apple's digital assistant.

Currently, there are 15 pre-set shortcuts available, but users also have the option to create their own and combine multiple actions into one shortcut. When accessing Shortcuts, Tesla owners will see a list of options specifically tailored for their vehicles. These options include locking and unlocking the vehicle, starting preconditioning, enabling or disabling Sentry and Dog mode, opening and closing the charging port, trunk, and hood, among others.

Once a shortcut is set up, it can be accessed by talking to Siri or added to the Home Screen for easier access. The versatility of Shortcuts allows users to create more complex commands for their Tesla cars. For example, a shortcut can be created to lock the car, close all windows, and enable Sentry mode with just one tap. Additionally, the Shortcuts app also offers the ability to create Automations, which allow shortcuts to be triggered based on specific conditions, such as location or time of day.

To enjoy this new functionality, Tesla owners using iOS should update their Tesla app to the latest version. With these enhancements, Tesla owners can now spend less time in their cars and more time interacting with Siri.
