Totem GT Super: Reviving Alfa 105-Series with a Powerful Supercharged V6
【Summary】The Totem GT Super, a revival of the Alfa 105-series, features a supercharged V6 engine with 740bhp. The car has a carbon fiber chassis and a bespoke exterior design. With a weight of just 1180kg, it promises impressive performance and is set to debut at Salon Privé in the UK.
Alfa Romeos from the 105-series are known for their beautiful styling and well-engineered features, making them the perfect starting point for classic Italian restomods. Alfaholics has already showcased their impressive GTA-R model, but with a nine-year waiting list, there's room for a new contender in the market. Enter Totem, an Italian firm that has created their own version of the 105 coupe called the Totem GT. This exciting new model will be making its UK debut at Salon Privé later this month.
Originally introduced as an all-electric modernized classic in 2020, the Totem GT has now expanded to include a petrol-powered V6 model. Despite the change in powertrain, the design language and chassis remain the same. Totem has taken the bulkhead of an original Alfa GT Junior and combined it with a new carbonfibre chassis, featuring steel subframes at the front and rear. This setup offers a more advanced layout than the GT Junior's unibody chassis and solid rear axle design. Additionally, the Totem GT boasts a bespoke wide-body carbonfibre exterior, further setting it apart from its donor car.
The V6-engined variant of the Totem GT is known as the Totem GT Super. It is equipped with a specially developed 2.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine that utilizes a dry-sump system. This powerplant delivers an impressive output of 592bhp and 516lb ft of torque. With a redline of 7500rpm and a 6-speed manual gearbox mounted at the rear axle, the Totem GT Super promises an exhilarating driving experience. For those seeking even more power, Totem offers a stage 2 performance package that includes a supercharger and an increased rev limit of 8500rpm. With these upgrades, the engine can produce a staggering 740bhp and 627lb ft of torque. While official performance figures have yet to be released, considering the lightweight nature of the GT Super at just 1180kg, it's safe to say that it will be in the realm of supercars.
