Toyota Ends US Sales of C-HR After 5 Years
【Summary】Toyota has decided to discontinue the C-HR in the US after 5 years. The C-HR was a unique and stylish addition to Toyota's lineup, originally a concept car for Scion. Despite its popularity, Toyota has made the decision to discontinue the C-HR, similar to what happened with other Scion models like the iM and FR-S.
The Toyota C-HR, a unique addition to Toyota's lineup, stood out from the more conventional models like the Camry and RAV4 in terms of styling. While those models were considered safe and predictable, the C-HR aimed to appeal to a younger audience seeking a more hip and fresh car.
Originally a concept car for the now-defunct Scion brand, the C-HR had a design that deviated from Toyota's mainstream lineup. Despite its name, which stands for "Coupe High-Rider," the C-HR actually had four doors. When Scion folded in 2016, Toyota decided to adopt the C-HR and introduced it as a new model for the 2018 model year.
The Scion iM went through a similar transformation, becoming the popular Corolla hatchback. Another Scion model, the FR-S, is now known as the 86.
