UK's electric vehicle output doubles 2022 levels
【Summary】UK's car production in July 2022 increased by 31.6% compared to the previous year, with a total of 76,451 cars built. Most of these cars (63,264) were exported, with a 36.1% rise. The production of electrified vehicles also saw a significant increase of 73.9%.
The British car industry showed further signs of recovery in July, with a significant increase of 31.6% in production compared to the previous year.
According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers (SMMT), a total of 76,451 cars were manufactured in the UK last month.
Out of these, a majority of 63,264 cars were exported, marking a substantial rise of 36.1% compared to July 2022. The key export markets included the EU, the US, China, Japan, and Australia.
Furthermore, there was a notable surge in the production of hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and battery-electric vehicles, with a remarkable increase of 73.9%.
