Track day enthusiasts often gravitate towards vehicles from small manufacturers like Caterham, Radical, Dallara, BAC, Ariel, or Ginetta. However, there are also custom-made vehicles with racecar aesthetics and track-focused setups that deserve attention. One such example is the prototype shown in the picture, which was meticulously handbuilt using Audi parts.

At first glance, the unnamed and unbranded vehicle bears a striking resemblance to the Group C racecars of the '80s and '90s. It boasts a low and wide stance, a sleek droplet-shaped canopy, and a central driving position. The absence of mirrors and license plates suggests that this vehicle is intended solely for track use, making it unsuitable for road driving.

The vehicle's design features, such as the prominent splitter, wide shoulders, NACA-style air ducts, side exhausts, roof scoop, large rear wing, and wide rear tires, all indicate its track prowess. However, it remains unclear whether this build incorporates any motorsport genes beneath its striking exterior. The owner mentions the generous use of Audi parts, but specific details about the underpinnings and specifications are not provided. Based on its appearance, it is possible that the model is based on a custom chassis rather than using the architecture of an existing vehicle.

Regarding the powertrain, the prototype is equipped with a rear-mounted V6 engine sourced from the first-generation Audi A4. While the ideal choice for this build would be the bi-turbo 2.7-liter V6 from the original RS4, the prototype is fitted with the 2.8-liter unit found in a lesser variant. This engine produces up to 190 horsepower (193 PS / 142 kW), which is still a considerable amount of power for a lightweight vehicle. Additionally, it can be easily tuned for even more performance. The owner claims that the prototype is in working condition, albeit requiring some minor work.

This unique vehicle is currently located in Vásárosnamény, Hungary, and was listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace. It was recently shared in the Unique Cars For Sale 3.0 Group, with an asking price of €20,000 ($21,840). While this price makes it more affordable than many track-day toys, it is worth noting that a used Mazda MX-5 could be purchased and tuned for significantly less. Unfortunately, the listing is no longer available, suggesting that someone may have already purchased this distinctive prototype.
