Dacia closes website for Black Friday
【Summary】Dacia, known for its budget-friendly cars, will shut down its online sales and car configurator on Black Friday, stating that it is just a normal day for them and showing their commitment to being the UK's top car manufacturer for value. The decision comes as 70% of Brits believe Black Friday is a marketing gimmick. Dacia will also release a radio advert with relaxing sounds to help consumers "tune out of the Black Friday noise." The online sales site will be back up on Saturday.
Dacia, known for its humorous jabs at the automotive industry, is once again taking a playful approach - this time with Black Friday. Instead of offering discounted deals like many other brands, Dacia has announced that it will be shutting down its online sales and car configurator for the day.
Luke Broad, Dacia Brand Director for the UK, explained the decision, stating, "At Dacia, Black Friday is just a normal Friday. Shutting down our online sales for the day is a bold move, but it demonstrates our commitment to being the UK's number one car manufacturer for value."
Interestingly, it seems that the UK population shares Dacia's skepticism towards Black Friday, with 70% of Brits believing it to be a marketing gimmick. In response, Dacia plans to release a radio advert featuring relaxing sounds, allowing consumers to "tune out of the Black Friday noise."
However, for customers who actually want to purchase a car from Dacia on Black Friday, the brand's decision to shut down online sales may seem like a marketing gimmick of its own. Fortunately, the Dacia online sales and configurator site will be back up and running on Saturday, November 25th.
