【Summary】BMW is set to unveil the Vision Neue Klasse, a concept car that will showcase the brand's next generation of electric vehicles. The automaker believes that this new model will change the course of its history and transform the BMW brand. The concept car is expected to be very similar to the production car and will feature sixth-generation batteries, offering longer range, quicker charging, and reduced CO2 emissions.
According to the top designer at BMW, the launch of the Vision Neue Klasse will mark a significant change for the brand. The automaker is preparing to reveal a concept car that showcases its next-generation electric vehicles. This upcoming product is expected to redefine the course of BMW's history.
The electric concept car, set to be unveiled on September 2, is anticipated to be a refined version of previous concepts like the BMW i Vision Dee. CEO Oliver Zipse has stated that the new concept will closely resemble the production car, which is scheduled for release in 2025.
In a recent teaser, BMW focuses on its design team, allowing them to express their thoughts on the new model. Although the teaser reveals only a glimpse of the car's mustard yellow seats, it emphasizes the significance of the concept car.
One designer praises the yellow interior, while another appreciates the temperature controls. A third designer comments on the spacious and light atmosphere of the interior. Adrian van Hooydonk, the head of BMW Group Design, expresses his belief that the launch of the Neue Klasse will transform the BMW brand.
The design team's enthusiasm is evident as they describe the upcoming changes to the heart of BMW in a "cool way." This suggests that the Vision Neue Klasse will have a substantial impact on the brand.
Previously, Zipse hinted at the magnitude of the project, describing it as a "mega-project" that encompasses the entire company and represents the future of BMW. The production car that the concept previews is expected to feature sixth-generation batteries, providing a 30 percent increase in range, 20 percent higher energy density, 30 percent faster charging, and a significant reduction in CO2 emissions during manufacturing.
BMW has confirmed that they will develop six vehicles based on the Neue Klasse's dedicated EV architecture. These vehicles are anticipated to debut between 2025 and 2027.
