In recent news, it has been announced that the 'T7' Multivan and California have undergone a significant change. Instead of being based on the load-carrying chassis of the Transporter van, they are now built on the car-derived architecture shared with the Volkswagen Golf hatch and Tiguan SUV. This alteration is part of the plan for the next generation of the Transporter van, which will be twinned with the Ford Transit Custom and is expected to be released in 2024.
