Volkswagen is set to unveil a high-performance all-wheel drive version of its ID. Buzz electric van. This new variant, called the ID. Buzz GTX, will feature a dual-motor powertrain, similar to the ID.4 GTX, giving it a sportier appearance.

New spy shots reveal that the ID. Buzz GTX will have a redesigned front end, including a modified lower bumper. Additionally, it will have unique wheel design, GTX badging, and exclusive color options to distinguish it from other versions of the ID. Buzz.

During a VW investor presentation, a close-up image of the ID. Buzz GTX's steering wheel was shown. It is the same steering wheel used in Volkswagen's other MEB platform GTX models, namely the ID.4 GTX and ID.5 GTX.

Not only will the steering wheel be similar, but the ID. Buzz GTX will also share a 77kWh battery with VW's other GTX offerings. However, the power output of the ID. Buzz GTX is expected to increase from 201bhp to 295bhp, while torque will remain at 310Nm. Unlike the standard ID. Buzz, which is rear-wheel drive, the GTX version will have a four-wheel-drive system like the ID.5 GTX.

The performance of the ID. Buzz GTX is likely to improve significantly compared to the regular version. The 0-62mph time of 10.2 seconds is expected to decrease, and the top speed of 90mph may increase as well. However, due to the extra power and the weight of the additional electric motor on the front axle, the range of the ID. Buzz GTX is expected to be slightly reduced compared to the standard version.

Charging the ID. Buzz GTX should not be affected, as it will use the same battery as other ID. Buzz models. It will have 170kW charging capability, allowing the battery to be charged from five to 80 percent capacity in just 30 minutes.

As the top-level trim in Volkswagen's all-electric lineup, the ID. Buzz GTX is likely to come fully equipped with features found in the current top-spec 1st Edition model, such as 21-inch wheels and a 12-inch touchscreen.

The ID. Buzz GTX is expected to join the ID. Buzz lineup in 2023, with pricing details to be announced later in the year.
