100 firefighters tackle massive flat fire in London

A massive fire has erupted in a business center in east London this evening. Firefighters are currently battling the blaze, which has engulfed the seven-storey building on Fairfield Road in Bow. The London Fire Brigade has described the fire as "very visible," and videos of the incident have been shared on social media, showing flames and thick smoke billowing into the sky.

As the fire rages on, firefighters are utilizing water towers to extinguish the flames that have reached the roof of the building. The structure contains flats, and nearby residents have gathered to witness the intense scene. Fifteen fire engines have been dispatched to the location to aid in the firefighting efforts.

At this time, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and there have been no reports of injuries. However, some residents of the affected building have expressed their shock at the lack of a fire alarm. One resident, known only as Drew, noticed smoke coming from the adjacent homes and immediately alerted his neighbors by knocking on their doors.

Drew shared his experience, saying, "I was about to run myself a bath when I saw smoke outside my window. I quickly realized that our building was on fire. The flats on the top floors had people inside, completely unaware of the situation because the fire alarm wasn't going off."

Concerned for the safety of his fellow residents, Drew promptly called the fire service and rushed downstairs to ensure the building was evacuated. He informed the fire warden that the flats had not been cleared. With the fire clearly originating from the roof, Drew hurried back to his flat, grabbed his belongings, and proceeded to alert his neighbors by shouting "fire" and knocking on their doors.

The incident is still under investigation, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
