2024 Fiat Panda: updated information

Fiat is set to make a comeback with the release of a new Fiat Panda, potentially arriving in mid-2024. The Italian brand has been unveiling new models recently, including the retro-inspired 600e electric crossover and the Topolino quadricycle. Our exclusive renders provide a preview of what the new Fiat Panda could look like.

On its 125th birthday on July 11, 2024, Fiat plans to unveil more affordable cars to compete with budget-friendly rivals like Dacia, Hyundai, and Kia. Fiat has hinted that its latest model could be a Panda-inspired car, drawing inspiration from the minimalistic Centoventi concept car revealed in 2019. With Dacia's Spring affordable EV coming to the UK, Fiat aims to introduce a rival cheap EV. The Panda, known for being small and affordable, could make a comeback in EV form, as well as petrol versions using the 1.2-litre PureTech unit found in Peugeot and Citroen cars under the Stellantis mothership.

While Fiat has not confirmed the return of other iconic small Fiat names like Punto, Tipo, and Uno, the brand has not ruled out having multiple models in the B-segment. Fiat CEO Olivier Francois stated that the upcoming models will be between 3.6 and 4.5 meters long and will offer extra Italian flair to differentiate from Dacia. Francois emphasized the importance of simplicity and joy in Fiat's design, stating that a simple car made by the Italians is a joy, while a simple car made by anyone else is a punishment.

As part of the Stellantis Group, Fiat can make use of a wider range of platforms and parts to keep costs down. While extravagant features like swappable batteries from the Centoventi Concept are unlikely to be included, simplicity will be a key focus for the new Fiat Panda.
