2024 Fiat Panda updates

Fiat is set to make a comeback with the release of an all-new Fiat Panda. The Italian brand has been underinvested for several years, resulting in the continued use of outdated technology and powertrains in models like the Fiat 500 and Fiat Panda. However, Fiat has recently unveiled new models, including the retro-inspired 600e electric crossover and the Topolino quadricycle based on the Citroen Ami. Our exclusive renders provide a preview of what the new Fiat Panda could look like.

On July 11, 2024, Fiat will celebrate its 125th birthday by unveiling more affordable cars to compete with budget-friendly rivals such as Dacia, Hyundai's lower-end models, and Kia's i10 and Picanto city cars. Fiat has hinted that its latest model could be inspired by the Panda and the minimalistic Centoventi concept car from 2019. With Dacia introducing its affordable EV, the Spring, to the UK, Fiat is likely to offer a rival cheap EV. The Panda could make a comeback as an electric vehicle, while petrol versions may also be available, possibly using the 1.2-liter PureTech unit found in Peugeot and Citroen cars under the Stellantis mothership.

Fiat has not confirmed whether other iconic small Fiat models like the Punto, Tipo, and Uno will make a return. However, the brand has stated that its upcoming models will be between 3.6 and 4.5 meters long. Fiat aims to differentiate itself from competitors like Dacia by infusing its cars with extra Italian flair. Fiat CEO Olivier Francois emphasized the brand's focus on creating simple, cool, and joyful cars with a touch of Italian design. He mentioned the possibility of drawing inspiration from the Panda and the 1980s to bring back the joy of owning a simple Italian car.

As part of the Stellantis Group, Fiat now has access to a wider range of platforms and parts, allowing for cost reduction. While features like swappable batteries from the Centoventi Concept are unlikely to be included, simplicity will be a key aspect of the new Fiat Panda.
