2024 Nissan Z Price Reveal

According to leaked information on the New Nissan Z Forum, the pricing for the 2024 Nissan Z has been revealed. The base model, the Z Sport, will start at $42,210, while the more hardcore Z Performance will have a starting MSRP of $52,210. These prices do not include the $1,095 destination charge, making the new model more expensive than its predecessor.

However, it is the high-spec Nismo variant that comes with the heftiest price tag. The Nismo version, equipped with a tuned-up twin-turbocharged V6 engine producing 420 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque, is said to retail for $64,990. In addition to the increased power, the Nismo variant offers a range of upgrades such as RAYS alloy wheels, upgraded brakes, stiffened suspension, Recaro seats, unique side skirts, special color options, and a ducktail spoiler. Unlike the Z Performance, the Nismo only comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

While the base model's price is in line with expectations, the Nismo variant may not offer the same level of performance value as the lower trims. Its price puts it in direct competition with models like the Chevrolet Corvette and Ford Mustang Dark Horse, which may have larger engines and more power on paper. This could sway some buyers who are not solely interested in the Z's heritage.

However, the lower-trimmed Z still offers a lot for the money. Compared to the Toyota Supra 2.0-liter model, the base Nissan Z outperforms it in terms of price and on-paper performance. The comparison becomes more complex when pitted against a Toyota equipped with the 3.0-liter DOHC 24-valve inline six engine.

The true value proposition of the different Z models will become clearer once they are available for test drives. However, the Nismo variant will need to justify its higher price tag by offering significant upgrades over the Performance trim.

Nissan is expected to announce the official pricing for the 2024 Nissan Z later this month.
