2024 Skoda Kodiaq PHEV receives complete interior revamp
【Summary】Skoda has revealed the interior of the upcoming 2024 Kodiaq, showcasing physical dial controls that can be customized for various functions. The new model will also feature a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument display, and a relocated automatic gear selector on the steering wheel. Connectivity is a key focus, with USB-C ports and wireless phone charging integrated into the design.
The next-generation Skoda Kodiaq is giving a sneak peek of its interior, as the Czech firm releases new images showcasing its physical dial controls for essential functions. Positioned between the centre console and dashboard, these three dials can be customized to adjust various settings. In the official images, the system is shown managing the climate settings for the front occupants on each respective side, with stereo volume control in between.
For user convenience, the dials located on either side of the front occupants can handle cabin temperature, seat heating or ventilation, depending on personal preference. The central controller, on the other hand, can modify fan speed, air direction, sound system volume, chosen driving mode, or even the zoom level of the sat-nav map.
Aside from the dial controls, the new images also reveal that the Kodiaq will feature a spacious 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 10-inch digital instrument display. In terms of design, the automatic gear selector has been relocated from the centre console to a stalk on the steering wheel, creating more legroom for those in the front.
Connectivity is another highlight of the new Kodiaq, with USB-C ports integrated into the rear-view mirror and centre console. Additionally, the centre console houses a 15W wireless phone-charging box.
The Skoda Kodiaq has proven to be a successful series, with the debut model followed by the popular Skoda Karoq and Kamiq. Now, the focus is back on the Kodiaq as the second-generation large SUV is set to arrive in the first quarter of 2024. Sharing parts with other Volkswagen Group models, including the new VW Tiguan, the new Kodiaq will offer a choice between a standard version and a sportier-looking SportLine variant. Most versions will come with seven seats, and a hotter Skoda Kodiaq vRS version is expected to join the range approximately a year later.
