2024 Skoda Kodiaq PHEV's interior gets a complete revamp
【Summary】Skoda has revealed the interior of the 2024 Kodiaq, showcasing physical dial controls that can be customized to manage various functions. The dials can control climate settings, seat heating/ventilation, fan speed, air direction, sound system volume, driving mode, and sat-nav zoom. The SUV will also feature a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10-inch digital instrument display, and a relocated automatic gear selector on the steering wheel.
The next-generation Skoda Kodiaq is giving us a sneak peek at its interior, and it seems that physical dial controls will still play a role in its design. The latest images reveal that the Kodiaq will feature three customizable dials, positioned between the centre console and the dashboard. These dials can be used to adjust various functions, such as the climate settings for the front occupants and the stereo volume.
When it comes to managing the cabin temperature, seat heating or ventilation, the dials on either side of the front occupants will come in handy. On the other hand, the central controller will allow users to control the fan speed, air direction, sound system volume, driving mode, and even the zoom level of the sat-nav map. The new images also show off a large 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 10-inch digital instrument display in the Kodiaq.
In addition to these features, Skoda has made some changes to enhance connectivity in the new Kodiaq. The automatic gear selector has been moved from the centre console to a stalk on the steering wheel, creating more legroom for the front occupants. USB-C ports have been integrated into the design, with one located on the rear-view mirror and another on the centre console. The centre console also houses a 15W wireless phone-charging box.
The Skoda Kodiaq has had a successful journey so far, with the first-generation model being followed by the popular Skoda Karoq and Kamiq. Now, Skoda is returning to where it all began and preparing to launch a new Kodiaq in the first quarter of 2024. This second-generation large SUV will continue to share parts with other Volkswagen Group models, including the new VW Tiguan. While details on prices, trim levels, and equipment are yet to be confirmed, it is expected that the new Kodiaq will be available in both standard and sportier-looking SportLine versions, with most variants offering seven seats. Furthermore, a hotter Skoda Kodiaq vRS version is anticipated to join the lineup approximately a year later.
