The Church of England has come under criticism from GB News presenter Arlene Foster, who believes that the church has "lost its way". This comes after a poll revealed the decline of Christianity in Britain, with three quarters of Church of England priests agreeing that Britain can no longer be described as a Christian country.

The survey, conducted by The Times, also found that a majority of priests want the church to start conducting same-sex weddings and abandon its opposition to premarital and gay sex. Foster expresses concern over the fact that this opinion is widely shared among clergy, as it signifies a push to change teachings that have been in place for 2000 years.

Foster highlights the survey's findings, stating that frontline clergy do not see the UK as a Christian country. She raises concerns over the lack of evangelization efforts by priests, who instead seem to be disheartened and unwilling to engage with those who are not Christians. Foster finds it incredible that the proposed solution is to change Christian teachings to appease non-Christians.

The survey also reveals high levels of stress among priests, with many feeling overwhelmed. It suggests that the church's efforts to halt declining attendances may fail and could worsen the situation.

Senior clergyman Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, has faced criticism for involving himself in political debates concerning Westminster. He has been urged to refrain from such involvement, with the Government's Rwanda migrant policy being a particular cause for concern. In May, Welby described the Government's illegal migration bill as "morally unacceptable" and expressed fears that it would damage the UK's interests and reputation.

Foster further criticizes the Church of England for failing to evangelize effectively. She believes that instead of trying to bring people into their churches, priests are focused on changing teachings and trying to please those who do not support Christianity.
