Audi RS4 Avant - the final farewell
【Summary】Audi fights back against BMW with the upgraded RS4 Avant Competition, featuring a turbocharged V6 engine, improved gearbox, and Quattro four-wheel drive system. The car boasts a sub-four-second 0-62mph time, race car-style suspension, and enhanced steering response.
After years of dominating the performance estate car market with models like the RS4 Avant and RS6, Audi is now facing its toughest competition yet from the BMW M3 Touring. In response, Audi has introduced the RS4 Avant Competition, which aims to regain some ground with a series of small but significant upgrades.
While the turbocharged V6 petrol engine remains unchanged, producing 450 horsepower, Audi has made modifications to the gearbox to improve acceleration. As a result, the RS4 Avant Competition can now sprint from 0-62mph in under four seconds, shaving a couple of tenths off its previous time. Additionally, tweaks have been made to the signature Quattro four-wheel drive system, allowing for more power to be sent to the rear wheels in order to match the performance of the BMW M3.
In an effort to appeal to serious enthusiasts, Audi has equipped the RS4 Avant Competition with race car-style manually adjustable suspension. This feature is sure to earn the respect of performance car enthusiasts who value precise handling. Furthermore, Audi has included the Sports Exhaust Plus as standard, providing a more aggressive and exhilarating sound.
To enhance the driving experience even further, Audi has made changes to the variable steering. Previously criticized for being too floppy, the variable steering has now been locked out, resulting in a sharper and more responsive feel through the corners. This adjustment will surely please drivers who demand precise and direct control over their vehicle.
